Hey guys,
I've bought 2 juveniles (2nd instar) of this species 5 months ago (yes, 5) , and none of them have molted yet. That's VERY long.
Has anyone experienced this too? They're both plump but they have been so for a long time now. I'm not feeding too much as they don't tend to get thinner very quickly.

Sounds about right. That's a very slow growing genus, so it takes them a while to molt.

If you bump up the temps a little bit that might encourage them to grow a little faster.

I was just wondering about the normality of such an occurence, but if it's to be expected.. no probs :)
What's their lifespan then?

They have quite a long lifespan, as do most of the Scorpionidae. I have had mine molt twice in the months I have kept them. In my experience, they eat better and molt faster under higher temperatures, and of course substrate to construct a burrow. They need a decent humidity in the burrow, and you can fluctuate the humidity of the surface.

Since they're so young I didn't provide a burrowing substrate yet. Should I redo their enclosures? They seem fine like that, for now.

You can't do any harm by offering a burrowing substrate. Hides are a suitable substitute for many species
