Nymph Assasin?

image.jpg image.jpg A catch and release bug while we were in northern Michigan, not the UP. Was at a state park, so unable to keep it, sadly.

I also wonder if it might have been a leaf footed bug?

It's a leaf-footed bug nymph. A good way to tell assassin bugs from other bugs is that all assassins have a small and elongated head that is more slender as it nears the thorax. Some leaf-footed bugs do have similarly shaped heads, but their heads are proportionately larger and they happen to have those noticeably different hind legs that give them their name.

Thanks! After doing some investigating, I was thinking it was a leaf footed beetle. It was so cute regardless of species :)
