Having kept large birds in the past, I can say this..............
If you isolate them and ignore them bad things will happen,
to you AND to them.
A bird was given to me about 15 years ago who had been
abused in some way. He became very attached to me.
This critter really hated men and I have no clue why.
If he was out of his cage and my dad or any other man was around he would hop down and chase them. One time my dad
decided that he wanted to try and hold the bird. Well, he
reached out to it and it ran right up his arm onto his back and
took one heck of a bite out of his shoulder! I guess it
thought it was protecting me or something, who knows.
I guess I do not understand why people purchase animals
of ANY kind and treat them like property. My birds were my
children, a part of the family, just like all of my other critters.

Another story from the SummersLand Zoo:D

I have many to tell:)
