Here is a video of me unboxing my first Parabuthus transvaalicus, packaging was horrible the container she was in was very cold. but she seems to be ok now.

Hopefully the poor packing and cold temperatures did not affect the brood.

Seems like bad judgement on the seller's part to ship such a specimen IMO.

I hope it didn't also. and I agree it shouldn't have been shipped but if you do ship a gravid specimen it should be top notch packaging with a heat pack this time of year. and this guy failed. He also said he had no choice but to sell his collection.

I wouldn't worry about them being cold for a 2 or 3 days, even tropical stuff can take that for a while. I also read that transvaalicus often live in areas that have a pretty low night time temps and probably get caught out under a thin rock now and then when it gets pretty cool. I forgot exactly what the cooler night time temps were in parts of the natural range though.

Depends which area, P transvaalicus is very wide spread in South Africa. In a lot of the areas you can expect winter temperatures in and around the 10C-4C during night time and warmer during the day.
