Hi guys and girls, i just found your forum and really enjoyed reading about the spiders and looking at the pictures (especially Bjorn's). As the title suggests i have recently become really interested in spiders and i was just wondering what books/websites you would recommend to help me learn more about them. Thanks in advance.

Here are some of the best introductory books, starting with:

Spiders, The Ultimate Predators - Stephen Dalton

The Private Lives of Spiders - Paul Hillyard

Then, to get more deeply into the subject:

Collins Field Guide, Spiders of Britain and Northern Europe by Michael J. Roberts.

The World of Spiders by W.S. Bristowe*

American Spiders - Willis J Gertsch*

(* out of print, but if you can find it in a library it is well worth reading)

Wow. That book is sitting open on my desk as I type this! It's an awesome book for a new enthusiast, which includes myself! I got it for Christmas and I love it! It explains the Scientific names of the spiders it shows. That's something I haven't found in many books. :D

Also, this is a great site for learning about spiders!
