Hi, Everyone, I've had a G Rosea for about 3 years now, she is doing very well. I live in the UK, and up until now I've always used a heat mat on the side of the tank in the winter. I live alone and work shifts and I'm not going to heat an empty house at current gas prices !!
So, as we are expecting a harsh winter this year (and we didn't get a summer).
What is the minimum temperature (in celsius) that poor old Hercules will put up with before she packs her bags and books a flight back to Peru ?
Thanks
John
ps, i toured Peru in May this year, and it was bloody freezing at night !

What temperature is your room usually at during the winter?

When writing a scientific name, the genus is capitalized, and the species is not. G. rosea

65 F (about 18 C) is usually considered the minimum most T's can be raised safely at. They can handle less, but there are risks.

Like paassatt asked, what temperature is your room at during winter? Considering it's your bedroom, I can't imagine you yourself can stand it to be that cold.
