I bought a lovely 4-4.5"ish female P. cambridgei at the reptile show around here today....got a fairly good deal at $20. Her attitude isn't what I expected, she was really calm for the picture. I've wanted one of these for a long time. Here she is:

I held my adult male (accidentally!) ....very skittish, but not really defensive.
Since he was munched on a breeding loan, I've been dying to get my hands on more of these guys. And it's finally going to happen, so I'm happy about that...they are very underrated IMHO.

They are nice T's. Cool that you can hold it our female is very defensive as is one of our males. Our female is about 6.5-7" and has molted recently.

The spot on her is a water droplet...I thought about getting it off her before I took the pic, but I didn't want to spook her. I'll get more pics shortly after she calms down from the day and ride home. She's my fav spider now :)

Jguy, the common name of the P.cambridgei is a Trinidad Chevron.

Wow great pic! I have a 6" Trinidad Chevron and i havent even thought of picking her up, she isnt skittish but she sure didnt like the paintbrush i used to move her into a cup to change her cork bark. She took a nice couple swats at it the one time but a different time acted very calmly so Im a little weary of trying. Plus the size of her fangs somewhat detours me too.

peace

Great!

Looks like you got a great buy! I have a female that I raised from a sling, and it is now 7", and just stunning! It catches crickets when I throw them in her cage, before they hit the ground! The colors and contrasts on her are just beautiful. She was very calm when young, but now has quite the attitude. When I moved her to a larger cage, she let me know she would take no disrespect, and wow, is she lightning quick! So I give her respect, and leave her alone.;) But, she is very calm otherwise. She is definately one of my favorites, I am sure you will enjoy yours, and congrats. on the great buy Joy!!:D

Nice T,
Don't keep it to moist. I think I lost mine cause I kept it to wet.
Just a tip, I could be wrong...

That they are also thought to be closely related to the Poecilotheria evolutionarily speaking should be another reason to be leary. I can't recall seeing a bite report for a Psalmopoeus, but I am interested to see some one of these days to see if speculation bears out.
