I went to the Carolina Repticon show today in Columbia-lots of good stuff, especially reptiles. Not as much variety in the inverts, but I did pick up some neat reptiles(along with a big female Heteropoda venatora), among them this guy, a nice bright-yellow adult male JCP:

He's enjoying a nice soak in his water bowl at the moment.

I picked up a female adult Pinellas Country, Florida Corn, who is currently enjoying some "quality time" with one of my males, a big male wc Lee County, SC, Corn, and a couple of Nerodia. Water Snakes happen to be among my favorites, and anyone can see why after looking at these two! First, here's a male red-phase Florida Banded(N. fasciata pictiventris:

And this is a MASSIVE female Florida Green(N. cyclopion)-I'm talking Blood Python wannabe! This girl is by far the biggest Nerodia I've ever seen, and is as sweet as a kitten! I just hope I don't have any trouble getting her to feed, and even more, that I can get her switched to rats FAST, since I'd have to buy Largemouth Bass to keep this snake fed!

She is easily as thick as my forearm, and heavy to boot; her head is as large as that of my adult Colombian Boa!

The JCP is between six and seven feet, with good muscle tone. I'm really surprised he's held his color this long, since in most adult male JCPs, the yellow turns to a dull brown by the time they reach about five feet. He must have really been a stunner when he was young!
