just picked up my Brachypelma vagans a few days ago and man I love it but I'm trying to figure out what this little patch is on its abdomen any thoughts?

It's just a bald spot from kicking hairs, perfectly normal. Nice healthy looking T!

Nice T, I strongly suggest you read up on basic tarantula morphology if you intend to keep them for any amount of time. Your Ts life may depend upon you having that knowledge at some point.
