I am thinking of getting into spider keeping but not on a major scale i have done a little research and here are my findings.
I want a big spider
I want this spider to be seen
I want a docile spider ( dont wanna handle it)

I have been looking around and it looks as if all of these features can come from a Chaco Golden Knee?

If i am correct in my research
1. How do i go about setting up a terrarium for it
2. what should i feed it
3. where should i get it
4. if there is a better spider to suit my needs please let me know

Thanks
Chris

1) I keep mine on a peat/ vermiculite mix ( most recommended substrates will work) with a large water dish and a shelter. Humidity shouldn't be a major factor as long as water is available. There is a caresheet on this species on this site that has good info.

2) Invertebrates such as crickets, roaches etc. Mine will take pinkie mice as well.

3) Try on-line dealers ( there is a review section on these forums that you may find useful) or local herp/invert shows.

4) I think this species fits your criterion nicely.

Welcome and I hope this helps.

I agree completely. These are wonderful tarantulas in every sense.

How about a brazillian salmon pink (Lasiodora parahybana) or the Brazillian white knee (Acanthoscurria geniculata). Both are big tarantulas that have a good apetite, are active and content to sit out in the open. And they are both great looking tarantulas.
