I bought a new asian forest scorpion, still a small baby like 1 to 1.5 inches long. The people I got him from don't know the species, but I assume heterometrus.

If anybody can tell the species and sex it would be appreciated. Also if my care looks proper. I will include photos.

Thanks

Keep in mind I am still fairly new here, but from what I gather, it can be quite difficult to determine exactly what you have when they are that young (3rd instar?). Also I think your picture of the underside has a line obscuring view of the operculum.

This image that i sometimes see posted on this site, does a good job of showing the difference.

I want to add that the shape of the male's operculum in the image below appears oval, but from what i have seen, sometimes it also 'points' towards the front of the scorpion (almost opposite of the female's shape).

Too young to accurately ID the species, and the picture is too bad to tell the sex. Would be way easier to wait until it's bigger and then have a look/post again.
