So after the sad passing of my juvinile Hadrurus Arizonensis "Beryl" following an unsuccessful molt I decided to buy an adult instead and was lucky enough to find a colour morph Hadrurus a. Pallidus (Blonde Desert Hairy)

He is gorgeous - meet Sebastian!

Looks good.

My H arizonensis pallidus is even paler. Funny how the colors can differ.

If I may, Hadrurus arizonensis pallidus was technically synonymized with H. a. arizonensis by Fet et al (2001).

Where it gets interesting is that Francke & Prendini (2008) regard H. a. pallidus as a valid subspecies, however they did NOT formally reestablish H. a. pallidus.

This was pointed out in a cladistic analysis by Fet & Soleglad (2008).

Thus, in subsequent work by Soleglad & Fet, H. a. pallidus is not regarded as a valid subspecies, but rather a color morph. So technically referring to it as H. a. pallidus is currently incorrect.

The most recent keys that I'm aware of are included in this paper:

Well I did state a colour morph in my original post - I'm new to the whole species classifications in sub species etc. but I will continue to call him a Pallidus as this is what the distributor / seller classified him as. Either way its a gorgeous scorpion :embarrassed:

Nice one, love those! They are sweeter than the regular colored H. arizonensis too. Make sure you put "pallidus" in quotes or the taxonomy Nazis will come after you

Understood, just wanted to point it out for those that might be unaware. :)
