Anyone out there own a male that never made a sperm web? I have a MM Regalis on loan now, had him going on 5 weeks now, according to the owner he has been mature 3-4 weeks before I got him. And still nothing. I even tried pairing him with me female anyway thinking maybe letting him know a female was around would stimulate him to make one but nadda. I'm stumped.
Maybe still to early to expect one?

Maybe he's gay ?

On a serious note, try housing them next to each other. I if she " senses " him she may start drumming, and get his juices flowing... Just an idea.

That's just about what I have going on now. They are in two large kritter keepers that are tilted on their sides and the lids are facing eachother so they can hopefully start dumming or doing something. There was ZERO drumming from ether party in a 6 hour co habitation, so who knows maybe he is gay.
I have had lame males before, but even the lame ones made sperm webs. Guess time will tell.

Do you have any other mating pairs ? I have heard stories of one T's drumming causing others to do it to... Kinda like spider porn.

I hope I'm being helpful at least :)

I don't have any other Pokie mating pairs, but I do have a few brachys I am breeding now that I am breeding. You can hear their vibrating from the other side of the T room so maybe they will get a clue from their buddies. :D

Man, I have had Ts that didn't make a sperm web for three months, and I mean a lot of them did this.

I've had a few do the same. Sometimes it just takes a long time, which can be frustrating if your female isn't as fresh as you'd like. Try swapping enclosures, putting the male into the female's, with all her webbing intact. Then house them next to one another.

That’s one thing I did get down pat for this pair, the female is 7 weeks post molt. So she should be kicking out all the right hormones........ dude should be climbing the fences trying to get to her! Time will tell patience is a virtue:

I have heard that many male T's take down their sperm webs after loading their guns. Perhaps your male has been making them all along and has been destroying the evidence.

Normally I might agree with you but I have a 24/7 motion detection web cam on him and other then doing some rounds at night at eating he's done nothing.

Try putting another mature male in the area and see if the loan male gets jealous and maybe makes a web or gets the female to drum in turn getting the male on loan to drum..

If I had another MM laying around I might try. I cant get that mad if they dont produce, my other females sac was pulled and I have 153 good eggs with legs.

I know less about T's than almost everybody on this forum, and I don't mean to offend anybody...but, being a fan of Ockham's Razor, I've got to ask: Is the owner somebody you've dealt with before? Do you trust him/her? Are they knowledgeable about T's?

If so, then I'm up a tree. But perhaps he/she doesn't know how to tell if a male is mature? Or lied? Or mistakenly saw a regular web or a web with some humidity droplets on it and thought it was a sperm web?

Sperm webs are made away from the regular webs they usually have already made. Depends on the species on what they do. Some do make sperm webs and destroy them. I had an OBT that did this. Maybe this will or will not help you.

No chance of that I have bred them before and know a mature male when I see one. This male has everything he needs to get busy he's just chosing a safer life for now I guess. I guess Ill just keep the camera on him 24/7 and wait it out.
