Hey, does anyone actually keep those spiders?!?! They look AMAZING, i wish i could get hold of a few slings... I've heard that they're pretty nervous, is that thrue?!?! I would also like to know... since they build webs so big, do they require a lot of room?!?!

They are nervous (but not aggressive). And yes they do require allot of room however a practical way to keep them is to just let them go in a corner of a room and they willl spin their beautiful orb web withought hesitation. Then you can just give them crickets or small roaches and they will do great. Just dont use a room such as a kitchen as high temps and fumes may injure them. This method also works well with almost all orb/circular web spinning spiders. Good luck :D

I've had them fall on me and walk all over my face, and I've handled them much like I handle a docile tarantula. I've never seen any threat or sign of aggression from one of these. The only reason I don't keep them is because I have cats, and because the true spiders just don't live that long. It's just not as rewarding keeping something who's lifespan is measured in months, since to me, even male tarantulas don't live long enough.

Are you proposing to keep the N.Clavipes roaming free around the room?!?! I was wondering what a cage setup for those may look like and how big it would be... I love these spiders but i wouldnt have them nesting all over my room :p

You would be surprised at what is nesting all over your room. :) At least with N. clavipes you would know it was there.

I run into these guys all over where I live and even kept one in a critter keeper for a few weeks. I felt sorry for her and let her go. They are really interesting to watch. So it would be cool if you set it up in a corner of your bedroom with a red spot light so you could watch it at night. IMO beats the heck out of counting sheep!!!
