What about Amblypygi? I think they like high humidity and vertical space. Just put a cork slab for them to hide behind during the daylight hours.
Don't they get too big for such a small tank? Granted, whips, tailless or not, aren't something I'm well versed in, but just looking at the size of some of the ones at the con makes me think it'd need a bit more space, otherwise it'll just be stuck on that bark.

There are many species that encompass many sizes. I have some florida whips for example that only get like the size of a quarter, if that.

They are wonderful creatures.

I'll look into those, then! Been meaning to get some, honestly, so if they're a good fit then I'd be cool with that!

All five of mine are smaller species, because I just don't have the room. The tarantulas get all the real estate in my house. Plus, speaking with the Amblypygi experts, it seems that the smaller species are more suitable for new people since they often seem hardier and have less moulting issues.
I adore my Amblypygi.

I'm going to have to disagree with the people who say you should sell it. My first T after 8 years of not keeping was an H. maculata, and one of the first after that was an S. calceatum which I raised from a sling to an adult. If you read everything you can about the speed and temperament of the species and keep it at an arm's length, you should be ok. S. cals are very shy and photosensitive.

That's nice and all, but just because things worked out for you doesn't mean it's the wisest way to go about being introduced to the hobby.

OP doesn't sound entirely comfortable working with this spider (forgive me if I'm mistaken, @b133d4u ), and if things DO go wrong when dealing with this species, it can go very wrong. No better way to put someone off the hobby than to get tagged and sent to the hospital by your first T, or have it escape in the house and potentially be a threat to anyone else who lives there or any other pets. It'd be in the OPs best interest to do some more research and start with something more beginner-friendly, and the Ts best interest to be rehomed with someone who'd be more likely to safely handle a situation in the off chance things go sideways.

In all honesty, I'm confident that if I were to put in the effort, I could absolutely provide for her very well. But like has been said by others, it's not the best T to start with, and I'm more than a little worried about a potential bite, either on me or my other animals in the case of an escape, even if she's been amazingly chill so far. Honestly, though, it's looking like I may have to step up to the plate, since I haven't had any interest on any sites I've tried to sell her on. I'll probably give it another week, and then contact my local exotic rescue to see if they're willing to take her in before making that decision, though.
