Here's an idea... ? send legally collected preserved specimens to a taxonomist working on asian tarantulas ?

Could be,those I've seen where always darker but also I know there should be 2 "color variations" of the species.
Mine got light like this before it molted, now that she has molted she is back to being darker.

They are not particularly underfed. Spiders are often grossly overfed in captivity.

loooooks like maybe S. arndsti (spelling) It could use some fattening they look slim but not THAT slim. Granted...

The specimen is wild caught in the Philippines. We're really looking to ID this T soon. Maybe someone would drop by this thread and share a familiar knowledge on this one.
