Hello all!

Been a while since I posted because I’ve been too busy to go herping. Anyways, today I did! And found two really cool spiders at the base of the White Tank Mountain here in AZ. I think the orb weaver looking spider is a triangulate cobweb spider. But not at all sure what type of cellar spider this could be. SOS!

Oh dang thank you! Is that different from cellar spiders? I see they both get the nickname daddy long leg. It’s labeled as a harvestman spider but not sure if they are actually different.
There's a bunch but yeah, harvestmen are opiliones. Pholcidae are the true daddy long legs/cellar spider.
The other is some true spider. Can't tell you which. Looks like it should have its fat ass in a web somewhere.

The harvestman looks like one of the Eurybunus. Compare to this one: https://bugguide.net/node/view/1788251 or this one: https://bugguide.net/node/view/268336

Harvestmen (Opiliones) are not spiders. They are a separate order of arachnids. Unlike spiders, harvestmen do not produce either silk or venom - but they make up for it by possessing a penis, enabling them copulate directly, rather than having to mate turkey-baster-style, via a sperm web and palpal bulbs, like spiders do.

Prettiest coloration I've seen in them. So cute! Makes me wonder if the opiliones are possibly higher order than arachnids with their more developed reproductive systems.

Okay @chanda what about the bulge butt with sort of marbled orb weaver coloration?

Try looking up the genus Eurybunus for that harvestman.

Thank you all this was very helpful! I got two of them that I found under the same rock “cuddling”. I assume they are mating right now, can’t send the video on here though :(. One is definitely darker than the other and only has 6 legs. Not sure if the leg thing is normal or he/she got hurt but they are identical on each side.

Edit: just realized the one I took a picture of is the one with 6 legs.

If I had to guess, I'd say it looks like one of the Metepeira. Compare to this one: https://bugguide.net/node/view/1377874 or this one: https://bugguide.net/node/view/923218 or this one: https://bugguide.net/node/view/845407
