Hey everyone,

My n. incei sling is coming tomorrow so I was setting up it's enclosure tonight. It's about 3/4" DLS.
I was looking at the boards here and saw some people describe it as "humidity dependent" and mention how online care guides tend to be inaccurate. I got my info on the humidity from "Mike's Basic Tarantula" and it recommended
keeping the substrate dry and misting the webbing once a month, but it seems like some people on here have had their n. incei die from dry substrate... so what's the truth?

Also, is Mike's Basic Tarantula an accurate care guide site? Is Mike's info any good? I liked the website because I had a lot of info at my fingertips, but now I'm wondering if his info might not be up-to-spec... what do y'all think? I guess I should start using the forum more for info...

Thanks everyone,

They can cope with a little moisture... just overfill the water dish. They're pretty hardy. Don't worry about the humidity dependant thing

I was going to ask the same question about my newly acquired Chilobrachys Fimbriatus. The humidity requirements and substrate moisture suggestions are all over the board ..from dry substrate, to just overflow the water dish, to don't even worry about it, to very damp soil. I have seen 80-85 ° humidity suggested!
I have other questions but this was already here so I thought I'd add on. Any advice, or should I start a separate thread about my first T?

No t is humidity dependent...some are moisture dependent, as in they need damp substrate...incei is one of these that will do best kept on damp sub,

I added some water using a pipette into the substrate and onto the web, so it should be good. Thank you!

moist, moist, moist. I kept mine moist at times, dry at times, but he liked it moist, I found out.

Mike's basic tarantula is suggesting you mist webbing, so idk how MOIST that will make the soil. ;)

Moral is, if mike's is all you got, take it with a grain of salt. just like a nice hard lemonade.
