The seller told me that this spider came from Vietnam. At first I thought it was just incorrect locality information, and that this spider was what is currently known in the hobby as Ornithoctoninae sp. "Borneo Orange Fringe", or Haplopelma doriae. However after hearing some opinions from a few knowledgeable people here on AB I think this warrants a second look.

What intrigues me is the fact that the aforementioned "orange fringe" species from Borneo grows to an adult size of over 6 inches. This spider appears to have sclerotized spermathecae and seems to be fully adult at barely 4".

Tell me what you think:

Oooh, oooh, I'd say female :D j/k

I agree that she appears to be a mature adult, but I'm certainly not qualified to venture a guess on the species. I look forward to following this one though - she's beautiful!
