I have about 7 Ts that are all different growth length and humidity level

One of my more favorite tarantulas is a Brachypelma albiceps (Mexican golden red rump) and i was wondering if its normal that i never either see him eat or he leaves boulbous and just molts slow.
I personally just cant tell with this species and was wondering if anyone has any help in if it molts slow or just is forever in premolt.

It's all normal some Brachypelma are glacially slow to do anything. Just keep your water dish full and offer food every week or 2 if your t says no more then once just wait till they moult n again keep that water dish full, it's all normal Brachypelma behaviour so don't worry just enjoy your floofy friend 😊

Brachypelmas enjoy a more white glove service in captivity. They are safe from predators and are offered a lot of food. Water is always available.

if you say you never see it eat, are you still offering food, and then it disappears but you don’t witness it?

any pictures of tarantula and enclosure?

it is the considered normal that brachypelmas fast, have slow growth. They can fast because they are full, no reason, pre-molt. Its all acceptable.

no molting pre-established timelines. Some times it can be quicker between molts, sometimes longer. Some people have brachys that hide for months and don’t eat.

i have 4 brachys, two emilia and two hamorii. When their abdomen is real full and then show no feeding response, i offer food less and less often. My hamoriis are small slings, over an inch but small carapace. They could eat more. But they are so full at the moment. I am not going to feed them for a while.

These are known to be considered the slowest growing Brachypelma. The larger it gets the slower it’ll grow, it will probably take 2-3 years to hit 3” and then likely another 4-5 to reach 5”. If your room is lower to mid 80s it’ll grow faster than 70s, but like most brachys they enjoy a cooler winter

I usually feed by dropping 2 small crickets in and seeing what happens. I usually come back to no more crickets and him being happy. I've just noticed that last time I fed him, he ate one and left bulbous. He's my pet rock so he doesn't really move from outside of his burrow. It seems like he's just maybe a slow grower or something. The other stuff is just kinda good to ask to me. I have a Mexican firered leg and he was slow to start molting but then took off and molted again withing a month.

Maybe he's a slow grower
