good luck with rearing the babies. my spadix gave birth to around 14 over a year ago, several of them just molted again and the last molt was probably 10 months ago. tell us how you are keeping them, temps, substrate, housing, are they by themselves or with other scorps?

i have them in deli cups by themselves for now, at about 80-85. then when they grow up i plan to up the temp about 5 degrees. i have an inch of orange sand watered down a bit, and most have burrowed so far already. i just let each one crawl on my finger from the mother's back. i'm surprised the mother's didnt get all too mad at me. i did have one close call where the stinger from the arizonensis came down on my thumb nail. i'm heading to Arizona for a weekend to go scorpion hunting with my uncle and dad. mostly for bark scorpions and dune scorps. maybe with some luck i'll find another spadix. i'm mostly lookin for females so i can get more babies. but yeah, the substrate is just watered down sand, the temps mostly at 80-85. i'm gonna plan on putting them into 5-10 GAL tanks when they're maybe a month old. i'm only gonna put a male and female together in each tank. if i sense any trouble i'm removing them right away. sometimes the difference between mating and fighting can be hard to distinguish at moments. but if ya need anymore info i'd be glad to help u out.

How long had you had these 2 scorps? Did you just get them?so you removed them the same day off the mothers back with no aggression from the mother?you let them crawl on your hand one at a time very interesting.:p

i let a whole bunch of them crawl on my hand at once. i kind of place the mother in tha palm of my hand and put my other hand towards the underside and kinda pushed each one onto my hand. it was pretty easy. yeah, i had just bought them maybe a month ago. so i think they were already gravid, so i got lucky.
