No, I don't mean Lori . . . ;)

This one realized there was a cricket in the tank when it was about an inch away. She reared up and struck once before tackling it. {D I still think the best part is that rear-up-and-strike thing my 'pedes seem to love doing so much. Even the babies! She's only about 2-2.5 inches.

Ha, either one would've been worth seeing. I expected to see an S. heros. Cool pic! I've fed a lot of pedes but only twice have I seen a "back-up and pounce" attack, just like a cat getting it's footing on the ground when it sees a mouse or bird. Maybe I'll get that on camera one day but I have very rarely seen it. It locates it, backs up and sets it's feet in a little and then jumps on it. I thought it was a freak thing the first time I saw it but then I saw it happen again.

Thanks!

That's strange that you don't see that more, Galapoheros. My "Hong Kong Giant" does the standard tackle, but this girl and my blue-rings all do the rear-up-and-pounce routine.

Either way, it's very entertaining to watch. :D
