k so ive had an irminia sling for around a month now and im running into some questions. as of about 2.5 weeks ago its sealed itself off into what appears to be a web and substrate cotton ball and has been refusing food. i presumed molting , as its only around the size of a nickel (2nd or 3rd instar?) i usually mist its vial once or twice a week , but tonite i misted a lil heavier than usual and it came out.... its climbin around and appears to be happy. not like it doesnt like it. my question is could i have been keepin the vial too dry? the substrate now looks fairly moist instead of dry like my obts. the IRMINIA itself still looks very healthy:D

I keep my irminias on the dry side but mist them once or twice a week until they are about 3". At that size they get a waterbowl and dry substrate. You probably flooded the hide and the little guy didn't like it so he came out to tell you. :embarrassed: He sounds fine just be careful on the amount of water that enters the burrow/hide. :D

I personally haven't seen it in 2-3i because their burrows were very well made. When they get to 1.5 to 2" you will notice their abdomens getting darker. My slings and juvies are fed more than normal so I am able to see their exo peeking through their panther suits. :D

well , to those who care? i musta done somethin right. the irminia sling has been "cocooned" for a while now till i heavily moistened the substrate. it has been active the past day or so and i just peeked in on it and it just finished molting. im glad i increased the humidity lol. {D{D ive never seen a sling so WHITE after a molt.. cant wait to see if its got any substantial size... it is now 3rd or 4th instars.
