Hello you all i am back again but this time with a different species. This is a very tame T very docile and very beautiful specially for a Grammostola species. Its a pitty that the colours aren't as vibrant on the pics as it is in real life. Well anyways you can have a good idea of her. She is 15 cm.

Enjoy !! any tips will be more than welcome , BTW she is eating around 2 to 3 crickets a day.

cya.

Does it have a water dish? With things so dry in that cage you want to make sure that it can get moisture when it needs to. She's real pretty by the way!

She's very pretty. Haven't come across one yet. I'll be sure to grab one if I do.

My only thought is of the tank height. If she were to fall (knock on wood), from so high up, she'd be extremely lucky to not rupture herself. Please keep that in mind.

And post those feeding pics!!!

I really dont think that is a G.grossa. They are more silver, with no leg striping.

Looks to me like Lasiodora striatus.

As Promised ;)

Hey ya all,

As for the hieght of the tank, i agree too, i have already asked for a tank to be built from scratch with 20 cm of hieght. 60 length and 30 depth. Anyways, this tarantula as i said before is as tame as it gets. Her abdomen resembles quite a lot with the G. family and not with the Lasiodoras. I fount the stripes peculiar too. However there is a couple of grammostolas that have that stripping also. Exactly the same. The person from who i about had a few different grammostola species, he assured to me that when it gets older it will become a more of a golden / silver colour. Well I just hope it is a grammostola in the whole , sure looks like one (discarding the colours) and also behaves like one to.

Additionally i can say that i have already fed her to critters today and will probably feed a third one later on. The first critter i filmed it being eaten. As for the second one, well i got these shots while watching him be eaten alive.

I have already manuseated the T (for future reference).

Well enjoy the pics !!! :)

P.S. Colours ain't 100 % but it should do the trick. Enjoy..

I must agree with the others that said that is not a Grossa or even a Grammostola, Grammostola's are know for there mirror patch which the one in your picture lacks... Here is a picture of a real G. grossa (sub-adult female) Greg

Grammostola 4 sure

i bought this T from a Tarantula Specialist of "universidade de Botucatu" in SP/Brasil, ind i think there´s no one more specialist in T as Brazilians ;P Scientists... and this G. Grossa is the more popular specie in Sao Paulo and South of Brazil with a lot of different colors, but the most popular are the goldens.....

If it wasn't for the shape of the chelicerae, I'd say that was an Aphonopelma sp.

As Bearskin stated, if it were a true Grammostola it would have a "mirror patch" on its abdomen. Most Grammostola I've seen have had a very "fuzzy" look as well...the spider pictured above looks nothing like any Grammostola sp. I've ever seen.

And the mirror patch is a definitive generic key for Grammostola? not according to ID guide, but that might be outdated.

I am not real familiar with the Grammostola Genus but all of them that I know of do have the mirror, but that is a good question? But one thing I can say for sure is yes the grossa does have the mirror patch...

Ok, then what species do you guys and girls think it is ??? please full name. Thanks, I will take a pic under a white fluoro lamp so that you all can have a better look at the colours, BTW i fed her around 30 mins ago the third cricket of the day.

what about the abdomen shape, thats typical grammostola. and as for the stripes, the grammostola aureostriata has the same stripes.

Grammostola aureostriata
