My female ornata!

Lol thanks everyone. She molted two days ago. And right now I'd say she's just in the purple color form for the ornata.

Personally I don't see any point in noting a color phase at the end of the scientific name due to the fact that your ornata or [insert scientific name and color phase here] is going to undergo many color shifts during it's lifetime for many reasons, such as; juvenile reaching adult coloration, hardening and softening of the exoskeleton, subadult reaching maturity, et cetera.

Your purple phase ornata is going to be brown phase before it's next molt, and could very well molt out as a blue phase next time.

Not always true, some specimens do posess a specfic natural color I just don't feel it's necessary, because it's not always certain for one reason or another.

Oh I see. That's very interesting. I hope she'll stay purple. She's been like that ever since i've got her.

She is absolutely stunning none the less, I hope my ornatas grow up to be just like her... And hopefully a him:D

Well I got her at 3" and probably about 6 months? That's a guess I'm sure it's way more so I'll say 6-10 months, somewhere in between that time frame.

Awsome ornata! i just ordered five, thanks noexcuse4you!!!
his ornatas are killer, I got 6 and they were such a steal that i gave one to one of my good friends as a sort of, thank you for introducing me to the hobby. He also got a P. Cambridgei and 2 P. irminia from me today. Lucky him, wish I had someone giving me free spiders.
