My daughter, age four, went to the zoo today for preschool. It's just a small local zoo. The following conversation occurred later this evening.

Lydia: "Daddy, I went to the zoo today and they had one tarantula."

Me: " Oh yeah, what kind was it?"

Lydia: "I don't remember, but it was black and a little grey too."

Me: "Was it an Aphonopelma?"

Lydia: "No."

Me: "Was it a Grammostola?"

Lydia: "Yes actually. A Grammostola pulchra I think"

I'm calling the zoo when it opens in the morning to see if they were showing a Grammastola pulchra to the preschoolers yesterday. I think we are going to get ice cream if they were.

Took kid to science central in Ft Wayne a couple weeks ago. They had one tarantula--an Avic avic, still in its Petco hut inside a bigger tank.

She got the right continent and more or less right region :)
Edit:
Besides, you took her off when you implied it was a Grammostola....your fault. Lol. :p
