My Brazil Black Turned Black

She was a drab brown when I bought her. She just molted into 2" and she's a shiny jet black black spider now. Very Cool. Had to Share.

Hey that's cool! Mine was brown when I got her too. Now shes about the size of yours and black too! Maybe they are from the same batch of slings?

A couple of mine were brown when I acquired them as WC adults. At the next molt they turned the beautiful velvety black typical of this species.

I understand owners of black show dogs and cats don't allow them outside because their fur takes on a rusty tinge with exposure to the elements. I sometimes wonder if this could be a related phenomenon?

I noticed that my L parahybana was the same way. Until its recent molt it was an ugly duckling. Now it is a beauty.
