My baby jumper is struggling to climb to the top of his deli cup.

Maybe take a small piece of paper towel and place inside (I rolled mine up to give my little guy a hiding place). That helped my sling out a lot in the beginning until it was better at climbing.

I was thinking of doing that but then I’d have to cover the entire inside in it and then he could possibly go behind it and get stuck

I just used a really small piece and rolled it up. Mine didn't take up much room. I added pictures for reference. You may have to adjust the size to how you like it, but you should be able to do it where the little guy doesn't get stuck. I stink at tearing in a straight line lol. I have two more slings coming today that I'm probably going to have to do this for.

I have seen people take a strip of construction paper and fold it like an accordion, and glue one top side to the lid and hang it upside down. Nothing for him to get stuck on, but its something for him to climb on and hide.
Something like this:

That definitely might work. I've never been good with glue, but I have heard of people using artificial flowers or pipe cleaners as well.
