I bet I'm bugging the hell out of Vayu Son tonight, with all the exclamation points :D

Here is what I got today:

A purpurea
T elenae (molted sucessfully enroute)
P ornata
M mesomelas
S calceatum

All are in really nice shape, and beautiful!
And all are too small for my POS camera to get good photos of :(

Congrats Holley! Two of those are on my most wanted list. The purpurea and calceatum. Grow 'em up quick so we can see pics! (I'm a poet! :))
That's nice to hear of the successful molt too. That's pretty lucky, huh? Little guy must've been like "what the hell?" during the whole molting en route deal.

Funny what you said about the exclamation points. Everytime I get excited and use one, the first thing that pops into my head is that I must be ticking off Vayu. LOL! Oh well, you can't please everyone. Vayu's cool anyhow. :)

and the P ornata

I don't have any of the S calceatum. As I was in the middle of the P ornata photo shoot, the electricity went out! I just about had a heart attack!
I can't believe I didn't lose her

Congrats Holley,
Those are some great looking spiders. The ornata is so pretty. Did she get feisty at all, or was she friendly? It is so fun getting new members of the family. :) Pam

Holley,
Although I don't know what T elenae, M mesomelas, or
S calceatum are, congrats! It may be a bit foggy, but your camera did pretty damn good! (as did you..)
Peace,
Gillian

Hi Holly, I apologize for calling you Gail last night. I was tired and stressed from taking pics with the help of my 5 year old and them turning out blurry. Your spiders are living dolls. So the poke actually didn't take off on ya and let ya hold it?

thanks Gillian!
I don't know the common names myself, or I'd tell you LOL
I think the T elenae is the Golden tree spider, the S calceatum is a featherleg, and the M mesomelas is the Columbian something or other.
Becky, no problem!
The P ornata was just frightened. Luckily she settled down into her comfy position by the time the lights went out, or I'd be in trouble!
I seem to recall Rosemary Kraft saying that the pokies are most comfortable in that position, and that's the position you want them in when handling them. They feel safe like that.

Hi Holley,
Very, VERY nice ;)

M. mesomelas have been on my dream list for some time now (along with all the other Megaphoebema, Pamphobeteus and Xenesthis spp.). Oh and who can forget Theraphosa, Phormictopus, Lasiodora, Reversopelma, yadda yadda...........

Who said size doesn't count;)

Was this one a CB??

Thanks,
Steve
