Bug (not moth) ID Please

This isn't the best photo for an ID I'm sure, but I thought I'd post it nonetheless.

Looks like family Coreidae? Or at least some kind of true bug....it is 3 am but I really don't think that's a moth.....

Yup Coreidae. Why would you think that is a moth? It is lacking the classic huge wings...

Well I thought it was a mosth because of how it flew off. Since I know basically nothing, that soft looking flying bug must have been a moth. Obviously I was wrong. Bear with me. I have only just started *noticing* the world around me in greater detail than a passing glance.

Thank you Jer. I was out taking pictures of the many spiders around the house, and just saw him sitting on a desk.

And thanks, you guys have set me on the right track. Maybe in a few years I'll know enough to do this on my own.

So, from a quick Google Search, the Coreidae is a "Leaffooted Bug"?

From this site, this is the one that most closely looks like the one here. http://bugguide.net/node/view/166834/bgpage

On the University of Kentucky Entemology Page, it could be a pest species Squash Bug(Anasa tristis). But I don't know, seems a little wider.
(My location is in Central Kentucky. That would help in finding its ID. I think I am going to email the photo to the Director.)

Maybe I should email the photo to the UK Entemology Department.

Darn my country generalizations. Just like every soft bodied flying creature around the porchlight is a moth or a knat, and all the beetle looking bugs are June Bugs. Hah, I'm trying to learn though.

Yup leaf-footed bug is correct. Based on that link you provided of Kentucky insects, I would say it most closely resembles the first one, squash bug. Identification with insects you will find is sometimes alot harder than one might think.
