Mormon cricket (Anabrus simplex)

Is anyone keeping these? I have searched the web and the forums and there's not a lot of information. Does anyone have any leads?

Our bug zoo is looking to start a "colony" (separately kept breeding group). Is it too late in the year to get them?

Any information would be welcome - needs for laying and possibility of diapause in particular.

I know there are some in my area (Eastern Washington) but it's been quite a few years since I have seen any. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone keeping a culture of these either. They are rather nice upon maturity.

You may want to look into Jerusalem Crickets as well. I caught one of those that was almost 1.5" and they are built like tanks. Sad thing though... the portion cup I had it in was exposed to bit of sun the morning we were packing up camp:8o
