The big chunks of bark and wood are what I hate.
What?! You're insane. That's what makes it so appealing.

If you want consistent substrate, then just put any substrate through a sifter. You can buy one for a few dollars at any grocery store.

I'm just gonna use eco earth. I want nice consistent soil-looking stuff, not big chunks of bark and wood.

Jungle mix looks very appealing imo. I use it in my humidity lovers' tanks.

peat moss + eco earth = perfect substrate for everything. holds moisture, looks nice, doesnt grow much mold, is relatively cheap, etc. peat moss= aprox. 70% eco earth = aprox 30%

A lot of people use Blackdiamond Blasting sand in aquariums. Its great for eels and other critters that get scratched up by rocks easily. I have no idea if its safe for inverts. Anyone know if its safe?

I will only use Mars sand for my Tarantula's. It is so much more out of this world.
