Hey all, my H. Gigas (Morgan) has just done something really odd..

Normally she only comes out of her burrow between 4-6am, it's 10.40am and she's just come out of her burrow, climbed the side of the tank, hissed, then gone back to her burrow about about 5 mins later.

I am sitting at my computer, with my back to her, not made any noise or vibrations, there's no music and no TV on. There's no crix in her tank, and there's been no fluxuations in temperature or light all morning.

I've had her for about 4 months, she's about 7.5" legspan, and this is the first time I've ever seen her display any kind of aggressive behaviour, even when I've been working in her tank.

Any ideas?

As for a reason why you got "hissed" at I have no idea. Sounds like a T being a T. Maybe she wants food, or water.

that's normal, it is only one of many different behaviors that you will notice in the T's.

she can notice vibrations much too minimal for you to percieve. so i guess there was something she didn't like she's just being a t, be happy you saw her out and about.
