Im new to tarantula keeping. I have a grammastola pulchra sling, about 1.5" with a fat abdomen. It did a little bit of a weird dance for awhile. But, i think now its on it's back? Can someone confirm if its on its back by the picture?

Sure is. The weird dance could have been it putting some strands of web onto the dirt so it had a softer place to molt.

My pulchra fooled me last molt by flipping over like that for an hour or so, then flipping back and not molting for another few days... So, don't panic if yours does that too 🤣

I definitely looks like it's on it's back. If you'd like to watch it molt, the best way to do it is to set up a camera (I use my son's Ipad) to record in timelapse, then just leave it there so the sling isn't disturbed during the process. Come back a few hours later and you can watch the video. It's a pretty cool thing to see!

When I had my A. chalcodes he would do this more than once.

He would come out of his burrow, flip on his back and I was excited to see him begin the molt process

Two times he did that with it ending of him flipping right side up and going back down in his burrow.

Molting, don't disturb it until it's done. At this size you can feed it 3 or 4 days after a molt.

Well either way it’s fat enough that it doesn’t need to eat again until after it molts!
