I kind of feel bad because now that I think about it, about two nights ago i went into one of my H gigas tanks (he did have the entrance blocked off which i was told was a molting sign) and i uncovered him and destroyed what looked like to me to be mold..but now that i think about it, it may have been a molting bed....Will he re make his bed and molt or did i postpone a molting by being over worried about mold?

how do yall usually tell mold from molt?...I never leave food in their enclosures long enough to mold so i dont really too much know how it looks compared to a lightly webbed substrate.

Mold can appear fuzzy or like tiny white clumps on the ground. Molting mats will be long threads of silk. Let the light hit it - if it glimmers / reflects a bit, it's silk.

Even just touching it should let you know. Silk will pull everything together.
