Hi..
I think that fungus/mold can be fought with good ventilation or to keep outbreaks of it to even start.
Like our "Athletic foot" that we humans get is really because of the effects; damp,wet, in-between toes,warm, tight together.
The humidity is so important for many species, but I think humidity should also be kept in line/control with good ventilation.
My cages has a constant "wind" blowing at them due to a fan I have blowing towards the cages 4 feet away. A very slight wind, but it works.
It's easy to moist the cage up a little if it gets dry due to ventilation.
Just a thought...
