Today I noticed some really small white slow moving mites on the lid of my roach bin. I remember hearing about someone who had these on his superworm bin and they quickly spread and infested the bin. Does anyone know what I can do to get rid of these mites before they get out of control without hurting the roaches? I think they might be grain mites but not sure.

You're lucky that they are grain mites-parasitic mites are much worse.
Although grain mites are far less harmful they ARE a nuisance.
Since most mites breed in "old" food and in "pockets" of moisture eliminating old, uneaten food and soggy "stuff" may do the trick.

Remove any grainy foods and leave the lid off for 3 days. They'll be gone in no time.

I don't like seeing mites crawling in my tanks, even if they are harmless varieties. I'd recommend a substrate change in addition to the already mentioned suggestions. It's worth the time.
