In the A avic and P murinus enclosures there are some oblong white capsules, ranging from 1/8 to 1/16 in size. I'm using peat substrate. Could they be mite eggs?

are they below the substrate line? if so they are most likely cricket eggs. If you keep the substrate moist you will have a bunch of free pinheads....ok if you need them but all you need to do is let the substrate dry out and they will die. If it's on the sides of the enclosures is just T poop.

Hope this helps.

Actually I just had a thought. I keep the substrate on the dry side with plenty of water in the dish. Mites would probably be unlikely. Cricket eggs are more likely. They wont hatch without moisture will they?

Yes, they are below the substrate..... I dont keep the substrate moist, just overflow the dish in the Avic enclosure occasionally. I'll try to get those out, but I AM NOT messing with my pterror's substrate unless it is nessesary. And it wont be cause he likes it on the dry side.

Sounds like cricket eggs for sure.
Think of it this way, it's free food.
Just make sure your T is not ready to molt (you know this:?)

I had pin heads in my A. avics jar not too long ago, he ate them.
