i've been told that when a millipede molts it will bury itself for a long period of time. i have a 'pede that has only been underground for a week or so. the reason i know he hasn't come out is because there are no 'nibble marks' on his food source. my question is: is this a likely molt? or is it just normal behavior?

They can stay underground for many weeks without molting. If they're on top most of the time it's usually because they're unhappy or hungry. It also depends a lot on the species.
