Millipede Fiasco!!!

My entire little colony of african millipedes where released into my house..
ALL 8 OF THEM!!

I went to kitchen to cook a tart , and what do I find on my fruit pile a big millipede .I picked him up and went to check the tank only to see all of them had escaped.

My nephew seemed to have opened the lid and forgot to close it...

took 6 hours to find them all , luckily the heater was on and most of them where near the heating vents , others under the couch and one somehow got into a computer case I was building.

Well that was fun. I'm buying lid locks tomorrow...



btw anyone know if they cant be kept together with hissers? I wanted to try to make a sort of rainforest terrarium.

Phew! At least you found them! Yes, with a pesky nephew, locks would be in order..

odd, now they got a weird gray powder on them , all of them

wiping it off with a cloth seems to works but its hard to get it off

I don't see why not...I feel like I've heard of hobbyists doing this before.
