Went to the Melbourne zoo recently, they have started talks for several of the endangered species at the zoo (elephant, gorilla, etc). The talk I was most interested in was the lord Howe island stick insect presentation. They had two shed skeletons of the insects and a Petri dish with several hundred hatched eggs. Towards the middle of the presentation a live stick insect was brought out in a repurposed bird nesting box. The stick insects are long and thick, about a sling as my hand. I would definitely recommend this zoo to anybody interested n the stick insects.
