Mean Emp

Ive had my Emp for almost a year now . Im about 90% its a male , hes long and thin . He has a deep burrow and comes out every night . For the most part hes mellow and I have held him in the past. Lately if I stick my hand near him he makes a move for it as in an attack fashion . Im at the point now where I try not to handle him to be honest he has me freaked . Is this normal for Emps as they get older ?

All animals can be unpredictable, so yes, that's normal in fashion with that statement. When more calm scorpions become grouchy, it's usually because something is stressing them out. Perhaps you were holding the Emp too often, perhaps temp or humidity is not satisfactory, perhaps the scorp is nearing a molt, etc. I'd just make sure everything was good as far as the keeping went and if so, just relax.
