my mealworm bin stinks up my whole room i have them on oats and dogfood taken through the blender at first(a couple months ago) it did not stink at all
there are so many worms and so many different sizes i doubt id be able to pick them all out without missing lots of them
is there any kind of food i could mix in to get rid of the stink? what does everyone else keep there mealworms on?

Once they've eaten all of the actual substrate their feces collect and make a sort of dry powder; The only really good way of getting rid of the odor is to sift the entire colony using a fine strainer. You'll lose only the youngest worms but everything else will be fine. Just move the stuff left in the strainer back to the container and mix in more of the original type of substrate.

I suspect the odor might be coming from the dog food.

I have mine entirely on oat and carrots, and the minimal smell doesn't go beyond the box.

You may also have some 'dead' worms rotting... so check it out.
