I just had an A. Versicolor molt. He/She now has "its" adult colors and is maybe 4.5 inches . I was just wondering how do I know for a fact that it is mature and could be bred? Also I don't know how to tell the gender. I know that looking under them at the little pocket thing is one way to tell, but I don't know what I'm looking for. I would really love to be able to tell myself without relying on others. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

The best way to tell is by looking at the shed exuvia. Jon3800 on YouTube has a great video about it, "How To Sex Scorpions and Tarantulas."

Do A. Versicolor MM have tibial hooks? I know some species lack them. Also I will be sure to check that video out. I am just confused on how to be sure a female is mature.

Dang iv answered this question twice today. Anyway females are mature at 60% their adult size.
