Mature Male Pedipalp Missing

Hi All. My mature male Pseudoclamoris gigas died this morning, as expected, however, he had a shriveled nub for a pedipalp. It looked as if it was chewed off, but he was well fed and hydrated.

Does anyone know what might have happened? Thanks!

Did you notice the missing pedipalp while he was alive (did he lose it in a troublesome ultimate molt)? Was the injury fresh and leaking or old and healed? Did you find the pedipalp in the enclosure anywhere? Was he ever paired?
