My P. chordatus as a mature male just completed a another molt (post-ultimate?) I had a different mature male T attempt this molt before, but died in the process. Has anyone else had this happen before?

I've heard of it in other arachnids, but never a tarantula. I think it's an extremely rare occurrence. I've heard of MMs attempting post-ultimate molts several times, but I've never come across any stories where they've survived the attempt. I assume it does happen every once in a blue moon (as evidenced by your own experience), but my understanding is that it's exceedingly rare.

Congrats on getting to witness such an unusual event!
