Female molted about a month ago and I paired her up tonight with a male on loan from Martin (Darkeye).

Both were receptive - the female began drumming, the male responded. Mating was off and on for about 45 minutes with multiple insertions witnessed.

Really nice Becca.

I've always loved irminia.

I hope she produces a sac for you! :)

Great pictures. I will be breeding this species soon and it will be my first breeding attempt. I see that your female is living in a burrow. My female, Nike, is living in a hollowed out log in a substrate free cage like my other arboreals. Do you think I should change her enclosure and give her some substrate or will she be comfortable enough to breed as is?

oh yeah, and i was wondering......your p.irminia is in a burrow?
It's not a burrow like you would think of an obligate burrowing species. However, this species does tend to build its retreat low to the ground in captivity. What you see is just a webbed mass with some substrate built in (from the ground up).

who pays for the shipping of the male?
It all depends on the terms of the breeding loan, but typically the owner of the male pays for shipping to him to the female.

They will both drum. Approx. 5 seconds after the male entered the female's enclosure she began coming out of her retreat and then drumming on the side of the container. He may have drummed first, I just didn't notice it.
