How do you put the black color around the bark/spider in the first two pics ? Photoshop or is it just your photo ? Very nice effect.

It is easy to get. Put a a strong light in the top, now put in the camera the darker option, and for finish put the most powerfull flash. Thats it.
An example (not so good like steven's picturte):

thanx everyone and i use the method Androctonus_bic described
but afterwards i still twist the levels a bit in Adobe Phshop to get a clear dark background ;)

I know how to make a black background taking the photo (a ring flash is also very useful in this case :rolleyes: ) but I thought Steven only used Photoshop for his first picture, the background seemed not very natural to me (but very nice Steven ! ;))
