Mantis enthusiasts?

G'day all, i've never really been into mantids because over here in australia we dont really have anything bizarre like some of the exotics like dead leaf mantids, violin mantids and orchid mantids. I cant find much info on any aussie mantids apart from the common garden varieties, are there any mantid lovers that know much about the australian mantid fauna and know of anything a little different over here?

You may want to check this book out if you are looking at keeping Australian inverts. I was thinking of getting a copy myself as Australia and New Zealand share a number of species in common.

I think you will find you have quite a selection over there. (Comepared to NZ at least!)

I dont know if you have any mantids, but if you do, they are probably highly venomous. It seems everything in Australia is highly venomous - lol.
