Cheers! You've given me another idea for a 'how to' guide.

This is the way I did it (VERY quick paint job;)) Though I'm sure my paint skills have cagilara shaking in hsi boots ;)

The main advantage of this is the male can tap through the substrate and accross her silk etc... Leave them like this from an hour to a week, depending on when yuo're confident. Prior to doing this thoguh, I'd advise putting the male in a seperate tank placed next to hers

The black thing = Male, Pink = Female

cute drawing!
That is called 'shark caging' and some people think it's quite effective, while others don't. I've done it with some couples, and I have had mixed results.
Another thing you can do would be to take some of the female's silk, and put it in the male's inclosure, and visa versa.
I have a GBB couple right now that their enclosures are side by side. The female just molted a few days ago, and she's started venturing out. The male is now hanging around on her side, he seems to sense that she is there, and there are two piece of plastic between them.
Most people recommend putting the male in the female's container, closely supervised, once you want to begin the mating process.

I just put the male in the female's enclosure and watch.... she usually stands up, bares her fangs, and waits for the hook up!! But that's only been my experience with 4 females!!!!!:D I am SO not an expert!
